About Big Spring

The largest spring in Missouri and one of the largest in the United States, discharging up to 840 million gallons per day. Part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways (NPS). Free access. Spring emerges dramatically from the base of a bluff into the Current River. Stunning Ozark scenery. Camping, canoeing/kayaking on the Current River. The spring flow is so large it creates its own visible current in the river.
