UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the top dive sites in the world. A perfectly circular blue hole 1,000 feet wide and 400 feet deep. Famous for its stalactites which formed during the last ice age when sea levels were lower. Reef sharks, bull sharks, midnight parrotfish, and grouper populate the rim. Accessible only by liveaboard or day trip from San Pedro or Caye Caulker. Advanced certification recommended. Jacques Cousteau made it famous in 1971.
